Our herdsires have some of the most prestigious bloodlines in the world. Alpacas of Wessex are keen to concentrate on genetic improvement based on sound breeding lines with known and proven parentage. Our current range of herdsires includes bloodlines from the following well-known machos with proven strong genetics:
Purrumbete Highlander, Purrumbete Ledgers Dream, Purrumbete El Dorado, Peruvian Accoyo Caligula, Peruvian Hemingway, PCA Peruvian Microsoft, Peruvian Accoyo Camilio, Peruvian Auzengate and Jolimont Bravo.

Most of these well known sires and grandsires of our herdsires have ancestry going back to the most prestigious studs in Peru, but more importantly they have proved their genetic strengths by breeding so many of the prize winning animals in the USA, Canada and Australia. Many animals have been exported from Peru, only a few have proved their value as these have.
